Learn about the navigators who found their way to colonise Australia. How did they find their way to Newcastle? Why did they stay here?

We look at the ways that technology has changed how the harbour operates: from horse drawn carriages to railways and hydraulic cranes. Students can also search for the machines in the museum.

Shipwrecks also played a major part in shaping Newcastle’s history.  Learn how brave men from the lifeboat Victoria saved many lives.
